Art jewellery can be seen as a crossover between visual arts and jewellery. By organizing “Jewellery Sessions”,
we create an interactive information exchange, a dialogue, a conversation or a meeting between two or more artists.
We start this concept with our first two artists in residence: Hanna Hedman & Sanna Lindberg,
to give you an overview of their cooperation, works, and forms of presentation.

I find it interesting to use photographs as a compliment to my jewelry. I am foremost a jewelry and object maker, but I find it interesting to heighten awareness of wearability and relation to the human body and to compliment my objects with portrait that strengthens the narrative of the stories that I trying to convey.
Fantasy as an escape has been a subject for all of my recent works; Existence is frightening and we all have our own strategies of handling and processing the cruelties of the world around us. Our fantasy worlds can function as outlets or survival strategies and a person’s personality can consist of as much fantasy as realism. My work is expressive and full of details. Stories of past eras branched off with everyday life and nature. Development of each piece progress organically with limited predefined planning. Fragments are created individually and then combined in a similar fashion as stories develop over time. Beauty is merged together with the unpleasant and serious.

Hanna Hedman explained in her lecture that all her work from 2006 up till now, has come from strong inner feelings, and therefore needs to be in a relationship with the body. When graduating from Konstfack, University College of arts, crafts and design, in Sweden in 2008, she realized that her, rather sculptural, pieces, were not obviously connected to the body to everyone. This is where she started collaborating with photographer Sanna Lindbergh. Hanna Hedmans’ graduation-show contained both her work and the photographs of her work by Sanna Lindbergh, to point out the role of the body and their wearability. Since then, Sanna Lindbergh has photographed all pieces by Hanna Hedman. In her lecture, Hedman expresses that, although the photographs serve her work, they have also become works on their own. Or how a presentation can start leading a life of its’ own.
